Yesterday I spent 2 hours clearing leaves from our tiny garden and the pathways outside it, I'm sure that German wet leaves are a lot heavier that British ones! Fortunately we have a wheel barrow and a forest right opposite, so there they are resting and decaying over the winter. I'm so glad they're wet and heavy because, should the wind blow, they'll come right back home to number 60 Hans Rother Steg!! they would not be 'willkomen' here. Last night Hugh and took Connor bowling, so with all the garden work and flinging of a heavy bowling ball....My left side is aching this morning.
My (Katalin's) German lessons are progressing, only 4 weeks left of this course, I will sign up again for January. Connor loves it and is Teacher's Pet, he has taken to it like duck to water. Logan isn't as keen but doing OK. Hugh just has no time to even think about it, although is picking up what he needs here and there. Those in his office are kind enough to speak English around him.
Alastair has 6 months left in the mission field. He is having a lot of success and since he is setting high monthly goals, he is getting results all the time. He couldn't be happier, it is so evident in the letters he writes.
Hollie is still at BYU, loving it there and has many good friends. She seems to fill her time with school, her job and her love of cooking. I am excited for her to come for Christmas and take charge of the kitchen!
Logan is in London for the ISST's (International School Soccer Tournament) at the moment. Did I tell you that he played for the JV's then made Varsity. He has had a very busy season and has been to lovely places including: Munich, Vienna, Paris, Zurich to name some. He has really enjoyed it. When he returns later today that will be it for the footy and he will start playing Basketball. I am happy it's over, Hugh and I have spent so many, many hours over the years standing on muddy, cold football pitches in the rain, frost and baking heat of Africa. Remember Alastair and his great love of the sport! So YEAHHH! it's over for this year. As I may have mentioned, basketball is Logan's thing! That all starts up next week. He isn't worried about the Try-outs since the team in the past hasn't been too good. Logan and another new boy who play well will help the team do better, the coach is really pleased and is excited about this coming season. Hugh and I are pleased that it will be indoors. If Alastair was here, it would be field hockey and again outdoors, I'm so glad he is on a mission!
Now the leaves have fallen around our house, we are surprised to see into the distance. Wow it is so different. We are on the top of a hill and can see right down over the rooftops of so many houses. I can even see the platform of 'Rosengarten' tram stop. At night it is so beautiful with all the lights on. I love it here, thee is nothing that I don't like.
